HISTORY
Establishment of the Department in the the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya
- Novel specialty- the recruitment of Anaesthetists academic cadre in 1977
- The formulation of the Department of Anaesthesiology in 1987
- Dedicated for anaesthesiology and intensive care and emergency medicine trainings, introducing services and researches in the national network of universities
- Academic staff – 1 Chair , 5 Senior Lecturer / Lecturer
- Non Academic - 3 (SSA,TO, Office AID)
Milestones
- In 2016 - Changed the name as Anaesthesiology and Critical Care
- In 2018 amalgamated with the division of Anaesthesia of the faculty of Dental sciences
- Increase the carder by 3
- The total carder as 1 chair, 8 Senior Lecturer / Lecturer
- New carder for post of Lab Attendant
- Non Academic – 4 (SSMA, TO, Office AID, Lab Attendant)
