	The Faculty of Medicine, Peradeniya encourages elective student clerkships for medical students from overseas Universities. These could be of 2 weeks to 4 months duration. A clinical field or a mix of clinical fields could be chosen. For hospital work, the Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya is used. For field work, the Hindagala Community Project area could be chosen. Applications must be made with the approval of the Dean of the applicants medical school. See application below. Nonetheless, normal vigilance against petty theft and crime needs to be observed. Weekends may be used to see the country. 	Electives on Cadaveric Dissections and Clinical anatomy
	Overseas undergraduate /postgraduate students are invited for these elective programmes. These programmes are structured to develop a deeper awareness of human structure through which a better professional development is achieved
	Duration
	Cadaveric dissections :2-4 weeks Full body dissections: four weeks For selected regions: two weeks Clinical anatomy :2 weeks
	Case based learning with relevant dissections:
	Students may request to visit a clinic/laboratory/ward/ETU to observe clinical presentations/ learn/observe clinical examinations/observe diagnostic procedures or procedures performed in order to manage/rehabilitate the condition.
