The following members of the Faculty of Medicine have received the Presidential Award for Scientific Publications organized by the National Research Council at the award ceremony held on 31st October 2014 at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla.

Prof. C.K. Abeysekera, Prof. Asiri Abeygunawardena, Prof. S.A.M. Kularatne, Prof. P.V.R. Kumarasiri, Prof. S. Dharmaratne, Prof. V. Thevanasam, Dr. S. Kalupahana, Dr. S. Wijetunge and Mr. N.B. Eriyagama

At the commemoration ceremony of the 130th Birthday of the late Dr. C.W.W. Kannangara, three members from University of Peradeniya received the Presidential award for “useful products by Central Colleges” started by late Dr. C.W.W. Kannangara.  All three members were from the Faculty of Medicine namely,
Prof. M.D. Lamawansa      – from Weeraketiya Rajapakse Central College
Prof. S.A.M. Kularatne       – from Ibbagamuwa Central College
Prof. Nimal Senanayake    – form Henegama Central College
