Visit of a reputed scholar, an educationist from the Netherlands -Professor H.P.A. Boshuizen

The activity was coordinated by the Medical Education Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya.

Under the visiting scholar program sponsored by the International Research Centre University of Peardeniya , Faculty of Medicine invited Prof. Boshuizen,  Professor of instructional sciences open University The Netherlands to interact with academics in the Faculty of Medicine and other healthcare Science faculties with a view to developing research collaborations in future.

During her stay at Peradeniya she conducted the following sessions.

• 11th September 2015- 8.00 to 10.00 a.m. Meeting with Staff  Faculty of Dental Sciences arranged by the Dental Education Unit.
• 11th September 2015- 12. 30 p.m. – Meeting with Dr. S. Kodikara, Director/ Research and Development Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Peradeniya
• 11th September 2015- 1.00 to 3.00 p.m. – Workshop conducted in the Faculty of Medicine on ‘Student centred learning – options available’ this was attended by academic staff members from Faculties of Health sciences University of Peardeniya.
• 14th September 2015- Seminar in the Senate –‘Instructional design for active learning’ attended by staff from other faculties in the University of Peradeniya
