Undergraduate Admission

Admission to the Faculty of Medicine is subjected to the government policy of University admission. The minimum requirements are passes at the GCE (Advanced Level) Examination in the following subjects.

• Biology

• Physics

• Chemistry

Selection of students will be done on the basis of merit order on the average Z score obtained by candidates at the advanced Level examination. District merit criteria is the procedure use to select undergraduates to the faculty.

Foreign Student Quota

By SAARC agreement - 10 students per year - applications through Dean/Medicine

- Tution fee US$ 5000 per year,

- Board & lodging roughly SLRs 5000 per monthly currently

- Cost for books etc. SLRs 15,000 - 20,0000 per year

Other foreign students - 2 students per year - applications through UGC

- Currently the rate are the same as the SAARC students. These may be revised.
