Admission to the Faculty of Medicine is subjected to the government policy of University admission. The minimum requirements are passes at the GCE (Advanced Level) Examination in the following subjects.

• Biology
• Physics
• Chemistry

Selection of students will be done on the basis of merit order on the average Z score obtained by candidates at the advanced Level examination. District merit criteria is the procedure use to select undergraduates to the faculty.

1. By MOU agreement - 10 students per year - applications through Dean/Medicine
   • Tution fee US$ 6500 per year
   • Board & lodging roughly SLRs 7000 per monthly currently
   • Cost for books etc. SLRs 15,000 - 20,0000 per year


2. Other foreign students - 2 students per year - applications through UGC
   • Currently the rate are the same as the SAARC students. These may be revised.
