Postmortem Abrasions

 Postmortem abrasions are important as they may mimic antemortem injury.    

  

 

        This figure shows a body recovered from the sea with  numerous superficial skin defects on the face and neck  as a result of post-mortem predation, probably by the crustacean Saduria entomn, shown in the right lower corner of the picture.
