These injuries are a result of a victim being hit by a vehicle, getting hooked and being dragged  along the road. Careful inspection must be made to detect foreign materials such as grease, paint, sand etc. which may help to reconstruct the event further.

The site and the size suggest that there could be injury to internal organs such as spleen, bowels etc. which may lead to death within minutes.
