The First Peradeniya Medical Faculty Annual Research Conference, which bears the acronym PEMSARC, was held on 30th September very successfully. The Chief Guest was Prof. Rohan Jayasekara. Prof. Channa Rathnatunga is the Guest of Honor. The conference included research outcomes of the academic staff, Undergraduates, and postgraduate students. Medical students have been very much involved in organizing this event under the banner of the Peradeniya Medical Undergraduates Research Committee.

The inaugural Co-Chairs were Dr. Samadhi Navaratne and Dr. Duminda Yasaratnne, Secretary Dr. Sakunthala Jayasinghe, Treasurer Dr. Padmini Dahanayake, Head of the Scientific Affairs Prof. Vajira Weerasinghe. Editorial committee Dr. Chamara Dalugama and Dr. Sayuri Perera co, Dr. Sanjeewani Fonseka for logistics with Dr. Keerthi Dissanayake, Dr. Lakshika Pathirana, Prof. Indu Nanayakkara and Prof. Manoji Pathirage, IT - Dr. Kesara Rathnathunga and Dr. Yasitha Illungasekara.
