Peradeniya Medical School Annual Research Conference (PeMSARC'23)
The 2nd Peradeniya Medical School Annual Research Conference (PeMSARC'23) was held on 12th September 2023 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya premises. The event was graced by Prof. Emeritus Nimal Senanayake, Consultant Neurologist and Past Dean as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Neelika Malavige, Professor, Department of Immunology and Molecular Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura as the Keynote Speaker, as well as Prof. M.D Lamawansa as the Vice-Chancellor.
The event provided a platform for undergraduates and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Medicine, and MBBS graduates islandwide to present their research in the form of oral and poster presentations, as well as staff thematic presentations and novel innovations by the non-academic staff. The best presentations were evaluated by an experienced panel of judges, and awarded prizes. The event was a product of a collective of effort of all facets of the Peradeniya Medical Faculty encompassing academic and non-academic staff, and students in its organising committee. The event culminated with a social event held at the Beach premises of the Faculty of Medicine to wind up a productive day of inspiration and research.
