Workshop to brief Higher Degrees candidates on the Rules and Regulations and Expectations
A workshop organized by the Higher Degrees Committee (HDC) of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya was held on 28/02/2025 at 9.00 a.m. at the Faculty Boardroom with the participation of 25 registered candidates.
Prof. Saman Nanayakkara, the Dean and the Chairperson of the HDC addressed the participants followed by briefing on the "rules and regulations" by Prof Susiji Wickramasinghe (Department of Parasitology), on the "guidelines for students" by Prof Neil Alles (Department of Biochemistry) and on the "Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework" by Prof Kosara Marambe (Department of Medical Education). This was followed by an interactive discussion on troubleshooting the degree, moderated by Prof Veranja Liyanapathirana (Secretary, HDC). During this session, candidates clarified their doubts on the thesis submission, forwarding progress reports, and developing other skills. The organization of the event was by Ms. Shanika Mahaliyadda, supported by Mr. Harsha Amarasinghe and other staff of the office of dean's office.
