Workshop on Basic Laparoscopy and Hands-on Training
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, successfully conducted a Workshop on Basic Laparoscopy and Hands-on Training in Laparoscopic Instruments on 15 July 2026 at Mian auditorium- Teaching Hospital Peradeniya.
Approximately 50 postgraduate trainees in obstetrics and Gynaecology participated in the programme, which combined theoretical instruction with practical training in basic laparoscopic techniques and the safe handling of laparoscopic instruments.
The resource persons were Dr Kaushika Gunasekara (Senior Lecturer in Surgery); Dr Buddhika Dassanayake (Senior Lecturer in Surgery); and Dr Ashani Ratnayake. (Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesiology). Dr Madhawa Karunarathne, Chairman of the Board of Study, graced the occasion with his distinguished presence in the program.
