Eid Al-Adha '26
The Peradeniya Muslim Medical Students' Society (Al-Dhawa) is an undergraduate student organization of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya. This year, the society organized an Eid Al-Adha celebration to foster friendship, cultural understanding, and unity among members of the faculty community.
Eid Al-Adha '26 was held on 6th June 2026 at the Faculty of Medicine, bringing together students, academic staff, and non-academic staff from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. The event was organized to share the spirit and traditions of Eid Al-Adha while creating an opportunity for interaction and fellowship among participants.
The programme included Qur'an recitation, speeches, cultural performances, and a variety of interactive stalls, including henna art, hijab and turban demonstrations, traditional sweets, refreshments, and games. Through these activities, attendees were able to experience different aspects of Islamic culture in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The event successfully promoted mutual understanding, strengthened relationships within the faculty, and reflected the values of unity, gratitude, and community that are central to Eid Al-Adha. Al-Dhawa extends its sincere appreciation to all participants, supporters, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the programme.
