Peradeniya University Buddhist Society conducted multiple programs to celebrate Vesak 2026. There were several Dhamma Deshana programmes, Medication session, a sil programme, decorations with flags and Vesak lanterns. This time a giant Vesak lantern was also erected at the main entrance to the university. Meanwhile several dansels and Bhakthi gee recitals were also held at Galaha junction. Two highlights of the bhakthi gee programme were singing of two bhakthi gee in Tamil and Bhutanese languages by students of the Faculty of Medicine.
