Message for students

As you are aware the faculty will conduct an OSCE with 14 stations on 6th December 2013 in the physiology department faculty of Medicine Peradeniya. The examination will be conducted over 6 hours commencing from 8.00 am. There are three sections in this OSCE; Clinical examination (4 minutes for each station), communication (8 minute for on station) and picture test (45 minutes for 40 pictures).

Students are invited to down load evaluation check lists and practice during ward work. Examiners will use the same checklist to evaluate you!

Communication
  • Students are invited to down load evaluation check list and scenario for these stations and practice these skill in advance so that you can perform well at the testing stations
  • Watch the video clip – at the end of the first part comment about the communication skill and then watch the second part
  • Watch given web sites that demonstrate communication skills
 

Consultation (history taking station) – 6- 7 minutes

  • Giving information – 6-7 minutes - Eight case scenarios are given below. You may have to take any one of them. Therefore have some idea about back ground information related to these cases. Practice it with your friend using the checklist provided.
