SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
The Faculty Scholarships Committee maintains a continuously updated student database that is prepared based on the net income of the family of each applicant, number of siblings in the family, number of siblings in higher education as well as other important financial and sociological factors that are revealed during the interview. This information is maintained in strict confidentiality and access is restricted to only a few authorized individuals.
The database is used to prepare an order of priority for available studentships/scholarships, selection of students and release of funds is done based on the number of studentships available at that time. The number of private studentships can vary from batch to batch depending on the availability of donors.
The majority of studentships handled by the Faculty Scholarships Committee are funded by generous private donors, most of whom are products of this faculty. It is the responsibility of the students who are recipients of such studentships to inform the committee or the donors whether they received their monthly installment and give an update on progress of their studies at the end of each year. This should include the results obtained at semester examinations held during that year. It is equally important to be grateful to the generous act of the private donors and be determined to be a donor yourself once you have successfully completed the degree and are employed locally or overseas.
Since there are several studentships available for students and some of them are based on results obtained at examinations, it is useful for the students to have an idea about what is available for them and for how long these specific scholarships are provided. A brief description of all studentships available for medical students can be found below.
