OVERVIEW
The Medical E-Library of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, is a forward-thinking digital learning hub designed to support self-directed, assignment-based learning as envisioned in the “Beyond 2004” curriculum. It plays a central role in shaping the modern medical graduate by offering a wide range of electronic learning resources, high-speed internet access, and dedicated support throughout the MBBS program.
THE E-LIBRARY TODAY: A SMART LEARNING ECOSYSTEM
With the launch of the E-Library Extension, the resource centre has grown both in capacity and capability. It now facilitates:
- Digital literacy training for new entrants
- Expanding Digital Literacy and application of Artificial intelligence in undergraduate education through Personal Professional Development (PPD) module
- Access to digital journals and medical databases
- Online research platforms - for CLR projects
- Interactive spaces for collaborative learning - Moodle and Perusall
- Computer-based formative and summative assessments
- Open access use for academic and non-academic staff
