The department also welcomes all students or personnel interested in hands-on training in microbiology to apply for observerships or training with hands-on attachments. The requests should be directed to the Head of the Department through head.microbiology@med.pdn.ac.lk. Your applications will be accepted based on the willingness of any academic staff member to supervise you at the given time. Requests for special training in the following areas would also be considered - diagnostic bacteriology, diagnostic virology, antimicrobial activity testing of natural products, and immunology. A university-approved bench fee would be charged for students from non-state universities.
