The Department of Paediatrics has been in existence for nearly forty years, from it's inception in 1964.

The Department is involved in academic aspects as well as in providing health care for all ages of children, from Neonates to Adolescents. Academic aspects involve undergraduate and post graduate training along with the training of elective students from any part of the world.

The Department is also involved in research in many fields, especially Nephrology, Urology, Endocrinology, Childhood Growth, Development & Nutrition, Childhood Respiratory illnesses and Childhood Meningitis.
