November
- A two-day workshop for Inquirers into Sudden Death, organized by the Department of Forensic Medicine will be held on 6th and 7th November, 2024.
October
- A workshop on Medico-Legal Issues in Emergency Department was held on 16th October, 2024 for postgraduate MD trainees in Emergency Medicine, organized by the Department of Forensic Medicine.
- An education visit by the students of Zahira College, Kalmunai to the Department of Forensic Medicine on 16th October, 2024.
- Dr. Niranga Senarathne Completed his post-MD training in Forensic Medicine at the Department of Forensic Medicine on 08th October, 2024.
- Farewell for Mr. Laxman Gunathilake (Chief Technical Officer) on his retirement following 31 years of invaluable service to the University of Peradeniya.
September
- Dr. Nayani Wijesooriya (Temporary Lecturer) and Dr. Darsha Somathilake (Temporary Research Assistant) completed their service on 30th September, 2024.
- A two-day workshop for Inquirers into Sudden Deaths was conducted by the Department of Forensic Medicine on 12th and 13th of September, 2024 with the participation of over 60 members of the Coroners’ Association of Sri Lanka.
- An educational visit to the Department of Forensic Medicine by the students of the Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo 05 on 12th September, 2024.
- An educational visit to the Department of Forensic Medicine by the GCE A/L Biological Science students of Mo/Medagama National School, Bibila on 06th September, 2024
August
- Prof. Amal Vadysinghe conducted a lecture titled "Child Abuse: Role of Nursing officer” at the Nursing Training School, Kandy on 15th August, 2024, organized by National Child Protection Authority (NCPA).
- An educational visit to the Department of Forensic Medicine by the students of the Convent of the Child Jesus National School, Ratnapura on 16th August, 2024.
- Dr. Kasun Ekanayake presented an oral research presentation titled "Trends in suicide deaths in elderly population in Sri Lanka from 2005 to 2015" at the 29th Annual Academic Sessions of the College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka, held on 9-10th August, 2024 at Hilton Colombo Residencies.
- Prof. Sarathchandra Kodikara conducted a guest lecture for the Matale Clinical Society on 08th August, 2024.
- An educational visit to the Department of Forensic Medicine by the students of Panadura Balika Maha Vidyalaya on 06th August, 2024.
July
- Dr. Kasun Ekanayake delivered a thematic presentation titled “"Hidden in plain sight: Uncommon presentations of child abuse" at PeMSARC’24 conference.
- Prof. Dinesh Fernando, Prof. Deepthi Edussuriya, Prof. Amal Vadysinghe, Dr. Kasun Ekanayake, and Dr. Chathula Wickramasinghe were awarded Research Publication Awards of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya for the year 2023, presented on 30th July 2024 at PeMSARC'24.
- Farewell to Mr. Prasanna Madushanka Liyange who has served the Department of Forensic Medicine for 2 years.
- Dr. Kasun Ekanayake and Dr. Bandarage Sanjaya participated in the 3rd phase of the excavation of human remains at Kokkuthuduvai, Mullaitivu on 12th-13th July, 2024.

- Medical students of Group 4CD (2019/20 batch) visited the Kurunegala High Court on an observational visit to witness the expert evidence given by Dr. Sadik Siddique, Acting Consultant JMO, National Hospital, Kandy, on 5th June, 2024.

- Sinhala Hindu New Year celebrations at the Department of Forensic Medicine.
March
- Dr. Kasun Ekanayake participated in the SAKURA SCIENCE Exchange Program administered by the Japan Science and Technology Agency, held from 4th-13th March 2024 at Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
February
- Dr. Kasun Ekanayake participated in the joint workshop on the Hokkaido University Inter-graduate School Class Field Research on Global Health - Group works and Discussions - from 15th-21st February 2024, held at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya.
- Educational visit by the Advanced Level students of K/T/ Teldeniya National School to the Department of Forensic Medicine on 16th February.
- Educational visit by the O/L students of R/ Convent of the Child Jesus National School to the Department of Forensic Medicine on 15th February.
- A team from UNICEF, High Court, Kandy and JMO's Office, Kandy visited the department on 01st February 2024, to explore the possibility of establishing a video recording/streaming facility, at the Department of Forensic Medicine, for legal procedures related child abuse and online evidence giving.
January
- The Annual Editorial Board Meeting of Sri Lanka Journal of Forensic Medicine, Science & Law was held on 31st January 2024 with physical/online participation of Editorial Board Members and International Advisory Panel from many countries.
