Prof. Amal N. Vadysinghe, MBBS, DLM, MD, D-ABMDI (USA), FCFPSL Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine , is a leading Professor of Forensic Medicine at the University of Peradeniya, specialized in clinical forensic medicine, medicolegal death investigation, and forensic pathology. With extensive experience in autopsy practice, injury-related research, and medico-legal education, he has supervised postgraduate training and contributed to national forensic guidelines. Prof. Vadysinghe’s research includes studies on intimate partner violence, suicide, and medico-legal aspects of child abuse, reflected in numerous peer-reviewed publications. He mentors future forensic scientists and enhances forensic medical practice in Sri Lanka and abroad.

Senior Professor Sarathchandra Kodikara, Attorney at Law, MBBS, MD, DLM, Clinical & Research Fellow, Chair & Senior Professor of Forensic Medicine, Board Certified Consultant in Forensic Medicine Completed clinical and research fellowships at the University of Toronto, Canada. An Attorney at Law, a Commissioner of Oaths, and a Notary. Chair & Senior Professor in Forensic Medicine. A board-certified senior specialist in Forensic Medicine. Former head of the Department of Forensic Medicine, Director, of the Research & Development Division, and a member of the Ethics Review Committee, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya. A visiting lecturer and examiner to many national and international universities. Member of the 'International Editorial Board' of the Journal of Forensic & Legal Medicine. Co-Editor of Sri Lanka Journal of Forensic Medicine Science & Law. Widely published in peer-reviewed indexed journals and widely presented in many international forensic forums. A member of a global humanitarian rapid response team. Authored international forensic textbook chapters and a series of forensic books. A member of the Board of Study in Forensic Medicine. Also a postgraduate course coordinator, postgraduate examiner, and forensic histopathology coordinator for the Board of Study in Forensic Medicine, Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Secured research grants. A script writer and forensic director for a forensic teledrama series. Has examined thousands of clinical forensic medicine cases, performed thousands of autopsies and is an expert witness to courts.

Prof. Dinesh Fernando, D.Ac, MBBS, MD, DLM, DMJ(Lond.), FCFPSL, graduated MBBS with 2nd class honours from the North Colombo Medical College, Ragama, Sri Lanka and served the ministry of health for 8 years prior to joining the department of forensic medicine at the University of Peradeniya. Board certified as a specialist in forensic medicine in Sri Lanka and conferred a fellowship by the College of Forensic Pathologists Sri Lanka. Obtained the post graduate Diploma in Medical Jurisprudence from London. Working experience as a forensic Pathologist in Australia and New Zealand. Experience of Disaster Victim Identification in Thailand with the Australian Federal Police following the Asian Tsunami. National trainer in DVI.

Prof. Deepthi Edussuriya MBBS, MPhil, PhD, is a distinguished Professor in Medical Education (Forensic Medicine) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, with extensive experience in medico-legal education, curriculum development, and forensic research. She has served as Head of the Department and contributed to postgraduate and undergraduate training, including medico-legal and ethical aspects of medical practice. Her research spans forensic curriculum evaluation, autopsy practice, injury patterns, and medical education innovation. Prof. Edussuriya actively publishes and mentors future forensic scientists and clinicians.

Dr. Kasun Bandara Ekanayake MBBS, DAS, is a Lecturer (Probationary) at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya. He is currently pursuing an MD in Forensic Medicine at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo. He contributes to undergraduate training in forensic pathology, clinical forensic medicine and medical ethics. His primary research interests include forensic pathology, clinical forensic medicine, and forensic anthropology, and he has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in both local and international journals. He is the recipient of several research awards at the Faculty of Medicine and the University of Peradeniya. He also serves as the Associate Editor of the Sri Lanka Journal of Forensic Medicine, Science & Law.

Chathula Ushari Wickramasinghe (MD, DipRCPath UK), is a Lecturer in Forensic Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Sri Lanka. She is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as medico-legal practice. Her academic interests include forensic histopathology, forensic radiology, and clinical forensic medicine, with research focused on intimate partner violence and child abuse, virtual autopsy, and the incorporation of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into forensic pathology.
She is actively engaged in collaborative multi-disciplinary research and serves as a peer reviewer and copy editor for academic journals. She also contributes as a resource person for outreach and capacity-building programmes for Inquirers into Sudden Death, legal professionals, and school-based awareness initiatives. She is committed to strengthening forensic medicine education and inspiring medical graduates to contribute effectively to the administration of justice.
